Yet another blog

Just what the world needs — yet another technology blog. This one, I hope, promises to be different. Here’s why:

Well for one thing, most tech blogs obsess over technology. Of course that’s the point of sites like TechCrunch but besides the obvious gadgets, apps and trends, theres a huge part of being a geek called life. Often I’ve found the culture of technology (ie lifestyle) to be the greatest use of osmosis when it comes to teaching. So part of this blog will be include non-technical observations like the below image I just happen to like for no particular reason.

Not Everything Needs To Make Sense

Another aspect of this blog I plan to explore are other forms of media. Besides “new” media, I’ve worked in television, print and to a limited degree, radio. While all of those platforms are often described to be on their death beds, I feel they are simply evolving. Radio delivered over IP is still radio when it comes to programming. Same thing with television and soon (thanks to the iPad and other tablets), print. Part of the goal here is to share insights on media consumption and trends that aren’t web-based.

Lastly, in the Canadian media/high tech industry you can typically count the number of black workers/entrepreneurs on one hand — and the number of executives on one or two fingers. As such, it’s a unique position to be one of the few. For whatever it’s worth, I hope to be able to share some of that insight. PEACE. — MG
